After working on part of Season 2, the Gravesend team asked me back to script supervise their more ambitious Season 3, which aimed to have more action and an expanded cast including Shaquille O’Neal, Vincent Pastore, Chris Tardio, and Academy Award nominee Talia Shire.

This show has it all for a script supervisor: it’s a period piece with plenty of stunts, explosions, VFX, large group scenes, and very specific lingo. On top of this, block-shooting meant keeping track of continuity for the entire season as we filmed scenes for multiple episodes on the same day (and we were no strangers to same-day rewrites). All of this meant I had to be on top of my game, advising the director and producers on changes to the story, tracking the ever-changing outfits and cars, and making sure our editors and VFX team had what they needed to put it all together with proper continuity.

We might film a scene from episode 8 and jump straight to episode 2 or a newly written scene for episode 9 all before lunch, and the cast and crew would look to me to make sure they knew exactly what they needed to know about the scene. “This is right after the scene where he meets Shaq, this scene is now at daytime, it’s two days after Sammy’s fight with so-and-so so his bruises should show that, Benny needs to be wearing his black leather jacket, he should be driving the IROC, and remember it’s now fall instead of summer.”
